Afro-Colombian perspectives on Transitional Justice

Peacebuilding is a scenario where diverse worldviews and ways of living merge. Afro-Colombian communities have borne the brunt of the armed conflict and their understanding of transitional justice is key in peacebuilding.

This event opens the floor to Francia Márquez Mina to discuss what Afro-Colombian transitional justice is, how Afro-Colombian communities see the work of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace and the Truth Commission, and how we can understand these developments in the context of the ongoing armed conflict in Colombia.

FRANCIA MÁRQUEZ MINA, Afro-Colombian human-rights and environmental activist in Colombia, and President of the National Council of Peace and Reconciliation.
