The Total Peace Snapshots (TSP) carefully follow the progress of the government’s ‘Total Peace’ policy. TPS seek to inform, explain and better understand the complex realities underpinning the government’s approach to making and building peace in the current critical juncture.
The Truth Commission team supports the Colombian Truth Commission’s work pedagogically, through publishing monthly snapshots of the work of the Commission and facilitating ‘non-workshops’ to engage participants with transitional justice processes in Colombia. We also facilitate the participation of the Colombian diaspora in truth-seeking efforts and work to prepare society to receive the Truth Commission’s final report.
The Transitional Justice team aims to inform, explain, and create a dialogue around the work of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) and its connections to the broader transitional justice framework in Colombia. We publish snapshots once a month to inform and analyse the latest progress of the JEP.
The Reincorporation team seeks to foster reconciliation and overcome stigmatisation in its support of the reincorporation process for FARC members. We promote knowledge and support the implementation of policies that strengthen the reincorporation process in Colombia. Additionally, we bring scholars together to critically reflect on reintegration and offer practical solutions to forthcoming challenges.
The UBPD team promotes discussion on disappearance in Colombia and actions that have contributed to the current situation. We seek to account for the complexity of this phenomenon that pervades all of society. Forced disappearance is a phenomenon that affects everyone, in different ways, not only those who have suffered disappearance in their inner circles. It poses challenging questions to all of society. As part of our work, we offer a space of reflection on this topic in our monthly snapshots.
